Tavistock 2nd XV 67 Brixham 2nd XV 0 AFTER a slow start with both sides making numerous unforced errors, Tavistock settled and took control in all departments. The forwards dominated in set-pieces, taking a number of scrums against the head. They also bossed play in both the loose and the lineout where Will Brown was prominent. The backs were far sharper and more inventive than their Brixham counterparts. The visitors managed to keep their line intact for the first 15 minutes, but were breached by a fine handling movement, finished off in some style by Doug Lloyd. Tavistock began to play fine running rugby and with the forwards supplying continuous good possession, the backs ran in four more tries before half time through Sam Smerdon, Alex Moy and two for Ben Neale. Alex Moy added four conversions and a penalty. The half time score was 36 -0. The second half continued much the same as the first had finished and a further five tries were scored by Moy, Sam Smerdon; Duncan Law; Colin Smerdon and Dave Goodspeed. Two more conversions by Moy and one from Will Brown completed the scoring. On the rare occasion that Brixham threatened the Tavistock line, the home defence was solid. A good all round team performance by Tavistock.
