A TRADITIONAL family Christmas can often be more problem than pleasure so this year, why not celebrate the holiday by laughing all your 'festive cares' away? The Tavonians Theatre Company will be making another welcome return to the Wharf, Tavistock, when they present the delightful Alan Ayckbourn farce 'Season's Greetings'. Founded in 1935, the Tavonians usually present two major shows every year. They have long been firm favourites at the Wharf, with 'sell-out' audiences. 'Season's Greetings' is set at Christmas among members of the eccentric Bunker household. You will meet Uncle Harvey, whose deeply suspicious attitude towards strangers causes him to see a criminal on every corner. Then there is Bernard, a dithering doctor keen to take every opportunity to present his incompetent puppet show. Phyllis, the world's worst cook, is another member of this chaotic family. To add to their troubles, a guest appears to cause even greater mayhem in their lives. For Ayckbourn at his hilarious best, performed by one of the South West's most popular theatre groups —the Tavonians — you will not want to miss 'Season's Greetings'. There will be a 7.30pm performance at The Wharf, every evening from Wednesday, November 29 to Saturday, December 2. For more details contact the box office on 01822 611166.
