WALKERS trekked across several miles of moorland recently, during the annual British Heart Foundation Moor Walk.

The event, held for the 20th time, was deemed a success, raising £946 for the charity.

The youngest walker was 12-year-old Tavistock resident Sean Donnelly (pictured), who despite spraining his ankle en route, completed the 10-mile course with his two great uncles, Kevin Donnelly from Fareham and Brian Wood, who was visiting the UK from his home on Vancouver Island in Canada.

Kris Budge, secretary of the BHF's Tavistock branch, said: 'Over the years this event has gone from strength to strength, mostly due to the support shown by our walk leaders and supporters.

'In the 20 years since its start, the event has raised £21,158 to help the foundation in its fight against diseases of the heart and circulation.'
