Sampford Courtenay is continuing to raise money for the village hall roof appeal.

Last week (January 21), the village hall committee organised a curry night for residents which successfully raised over £700 for the scheme, named Roof-us.

Other village organisations and businnesses are also putting on fundraising events for the Roof-us initiative.

Sampford Courtenay hostelry The New Inn will be holding another pub quiz in aid of the appeal. The quiz on Tuesday, March 15 starts at 8.30pm and booking is essential, call 01837 82247 or email [email protected]. The January quiz raised £126 towards fixing the hall roof.

The village hall committee has calculated that at least £150,000 is needed to complete all the necessary repairs

As well as repairing the roof, the committee are aiming to replace one of the windows, add roof insulation and repair the chimney stack.
