ANYONE wishing to learn the basics of Salsa dancing can do so this Saturday while benefitting a charity at the same time. Tavistock branch of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is holding a Valentine?s Salsa Evening at King?s in Tavistock on Saturday, February 12 at 7.30pm. A professional will teach the basics, and no experience or partner is necessary. Money raised will go to the branch Holiday Fund 2005, which funds holidays for young people with Muscular Dystrophy. These provide the youngsters an opportunity to socialise with others of their own age and at the same time give a break for their parents and carers. Tickets are £3 per adult and £1 per child. As well as dancing, there will also be a bar and light buffet. Tickets are available from Tracy Harding on 01822 610649 or on the door. The draw for the branch?s Grand Prize Raffle will also take place during the evening. Prizes include a hot air balloon flight, a TV/DVD player and a DAB radio. Draw promoter Chris Harding said £104 of tickets was sold at Safeway on the last Saturday in January, and thanked supporters. The Tavistock branch will hold its annual meeting today, February 10, at Tavistock Methodist Church at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome.
