TRURO, above Okehampton in the league table, provided a stiff challenge and took an early lead.
There was little to choose between the sides in an even first half.
Okehampton started the second half well, Chris Luxton found himself in space in the circle and his accurate flick was parried by the home keeper. Following up well Luxton was able to equalise.
This gave Okehampton heart. Pushing for goals they left their defence open at times, but Mark Clapham tackled superbly to thwart the Truro attacks.
It looked as if points would be shared, until Steve Sage managed to deflect a short corner strike into the net to score for Okehampton and enable them to secure three valuable points.

SUNDAY proved to be a different story. Playing a Newquay second team Okehampton moved the ball well and took an early lead.
A move starting with a good tackle in midfield ended with the Newquay keeper being drawn out of position and Chris Luxton scoring from close range.
Okehampton went further into the lead when Phil Hampson took the ball out wide onto the right and got in a good cross. Luxton again got on the end of it and chipped the ball over the keeper.
Okehampton then let Newquay back into the game with a goal before half time.
In the second half Okehampton were unlucky to concede a short corner. Newquay took advantage with a well taken flick to equalise.
Okes had their chances to win the game, but Newquay scored the winner.
This week Okehapton go west again to play St Austell.
