THE remembrance service in Tavistock should have been a moving and memorable occasion for all who attended, none more so for serving personnel and veterans and their families. However, at 10.50am the last post was sounded and hence the start of the two minutes silence, with the sound of traffic in the background. Why did the organisers not observe the historic 11 o'clock two minutes silence when, by then, the traffic had been stopped? I felt the whole occassion was rushed which was sad, and this being the centenary year of the beginning of WW1 and troops withdrawing from Afganistan. Rosie Burgess Tavistock
