A STALWART member of Tavistock Athletic Club is running the Plymouth Half Marathon on May 30, to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Keith Bowles (pictured left) is running in recognition of the help and care he and his wife Beryl have received from Macmillan during the last three years.

Keith said: 'The support we have received could not be bettered. Someone is always available at the end of the phone, a nurse makes regular calls and the Mustard Tree, on top of the Oncology Department at Derriford, is a relaxing oasis at what can be a stressful time.

'We have also received treatments at the Triangle Centre at Tavistock Clinic, where staff and volunteers always have so much time for you.

'Beryl's journey has been made so much easier by the kindness and concern everyone has shown.'

Keith, who has been suffering a hip problem, is predicting he will do a 'personal worst' in the race, but has vowed to complete it nonetheless.
