EAST CORNWALL runner Sharon Daw came second lady at the Dartmoor Discovery on Saturday. She won a lovely cut glass crystal decanter and also the trophy for first woman new to ultra running. Sharon ran her first Ultra in four hours 45 minutes, and thoroughly enjoyed it. ?The weather, although very windy, was ideal ? not too hot and some light drizzle. ?I felt good all the way around and now having done the distance, without training for it, will be keen next year to go under four and a half hours,? said Sharon. She recently had course PB at Plymouth Half Marathon, knocking 4 minutes 21 seconds off her 2004 time. Third at Helston 10.5 miles the week after Tresco Marathon in another PB by two minutes time of 68.37. The Plymouth 10k on May 15 saw another course PB in 40.30. The Saltash Half Marathon on May 1 saw another stunning course PB in one hour thirty one, over three minutes quicker then 2004.
