THE nine Okehampton youth rugby teams joined together last Sunday for a sponsored cycle ride along the ?Granite Way? from Okehampton Station to Bearslake.
Refreshments were cooked at Meldon Village Hall on the return trip. More than 100 cyclists from aged 7-plus raised £1,710 on the day. This will buy rugby balls, first aid kits, water bottles and a set of rugby shirts.
Thanks were expressed to all who took part and to the ?Four Musketeers? who organised the event: Wiz Francis, Sue Wonnacott, Mandy Heard and Martin White.
Andrew Fishleigh raised £170 himself and won a rugby ball signed by Julian White of Bristol and England ? a former Okehampton player.
