THE collection on Sunday, October 13, organised by the Rotary Club of Tavistock to support Shelterbox in their specific help for refugees from war-torn Syria, raised some £546.

The generosity of the people of Tavistock and Morrisons store where the collection took place is greatly appreciated.

One of our Rotarians summed up the time collecting as 'brilliant, one day standing around laughing with people, and a family is housed; that's what I call a result', a view shared by all, including our member David Glover, who is the Rotary relations manager at Shelterbox UK.

Shelterbox is an international disaster relief agency that delivers emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies to families affected by disasters around the world and is very much dependent on these donations.
