AN AUTHOR who now lives near Tavistock will be giving a talk at Tavistock Library to mark National Book Week. Patricia Fawcett has lived most of her life in the north of England, where many of her novels are set, but Devon and Bermuda have also been settings. She has been writing for more than 20 years and is styled a romantic novelist, despite initially thinking she would write crime fiction. After a children?s novel, she moved on to three short romances. Set to Music was her first full-length novel. Now she is living in Devon, Patricia imagines the county will feature strongly in future books. She has two books due out, The Cuckoo?s Nest and Return to Rosemount, and has just finished the reworking of Ruby House. She is currently working on a contemporary novel. Patricia is a member of the Romantic Novelists? Association and a reader for them, looking at scripts submitted by new writers and offering detailed criticism and advice. She ran creative writing groups while living in Castle Barnard and was a member of the writers? circle there. She is happy talking to groups ? which she will be doing on Tuesday, March 1 at the library from 2pm to 4pm. Everyone is welcome and admission is free. Tickets are available from the library.
