Okehampton 6

ALTHOUGH the score suggests an easy victory for the visitors it was never that comfortable. The seconds controlled the first half, creating several chances which Darren Reed and Stuart Jarvis failed to take.

Okehampton struggled to get any possession at all but managed to convert their first attack, Jacob Lloyd scoring as they hit the hosts on the break.

Continuing to dominate the seconds went close again only for James Speak to clear off the line. They then won a penalty flick when Chris Searle's shot was stopped on the line by the captain's foot, Luke Miller stepped up confidently only to see his stroke saved by the exceptional Andy Harvey.

The first rallied and managed another counter attack goal with Lloyd grabbing his second just before half time to give them a two nil lead at the break.

After the interval the game turned around completely and the first took control, spreading the ball wide and moving the ball between the forwards superbly. It was only a matter of time before they got their third, Josh Speak pouncing on a rebound from the keeper to score.

The seconds did manage to grab a consolation when Miller drove home from a short corner. The fourth came when Mark Parsons raced through to score after a stunning defence slitting ball from Nick Luxton.

Okehampton continued to attack and forced a sucession of short corners, when eventually they worked a routine to perfection and James Rogers was on hand to prod in a fifth.

The sixth also came from a short corner with Rogers this time injecting the ball for Parsons to get his second.
