Camborne A 3

THE first half saw Cambourne with much of the attacking play, soon scoring to take an early lead.

Camborne soon scored another - not the start Tavistock had wanted. The home side went on the offensive but hesitations in the D from North and Reynolds meant there was nothing to cheer.

At the other end Camborne won a penalty flick, keeper Osbourne had no trouble though as he guessed right to prevent the goal. There was further controversy when Camborne scored a goal which had been deflected in by a Tavistock stick, after much deliberation the umpires decided to disallow the goal as the shot was originally off target.

A good half time talk from captain Cowen saw Tavistock come out looking sharper and on top. The play was pressed in the Camborne half of the pitch and panic from visitors saw them make far more errors keeping Tavistock pressed high.

The pressure soon cracked Camborne when Reynolds deceived the keeper pushing the ball to the bottom right of the goal, and keeping Tavistock in the game.

However Camborne countered to make the most of the Tavistock team going forward. But with 10 minutes to play Tavistock continued to press with an all or nothing mentality and got a second when Curno smashed into the D for Reynolds to bag his second, connecting well with the ball.

Camborne managed to close out the game, but Tavistock played far better than in previous weeks and are looking to carry this style of play on to future games.
