A NEW look community café at Tavistock United Reformed Church is due to open tomorrow (Friday) in the refurbished main hall. The Lower Deck Café will offer a safe, warm, relaxed and friendly eating place for everyone in Tavistock and will serve freshly prepared, wholesome food and drink at reasonable prices. The café also aims to create an awareness of Fair Trade goods. Church minister, the Rev Roger Cornish said: ?At first only light snacks will be sold, but eventually we hope to offer a substantial meal of the day. ?We have a number of volunteers to run the café but need a few more in order that no-one feels over-burdened.? The community café is part of the church?s vision of service to the people of Tavistock and will be open from 10am till 2pm. The kitchen facilities have been renovated recently and it is hoped they will be enlarged and developed further. If anyone would like to become a volunteer, contact the Rev Roger Cornish on 01822 614613.
