ONE of the most influential bands of the 1970s, Led Zeppelin were the inventors of heavy metal and their unique music re-defined stadium rock for generations of fans. Tomorrow (Friday), the audience at The Wharf, Tavistock will be transported back to the full glory days of this legendary group, when the tribute band, Stairway to Zeppelin take to the stage. Their superb programme will include such unforgettable classics as 'Black Dog', 'Rock and Roll', 'Battle of Evermore' and 'Going to California'. Through their use of period instruments and costumes, members of the band are able to recreate the true, original Led Zeppelin sound and appearance. The English band, Stairway to Zeppelin, were formed in 2000 by Kenny Stewart on vocals and Johnny Binnie (guitar). The other founding members were Terry Horbury, bass and Andy Bierne (drums). All four were original members of the successful, British rock group of the late 70s, Dirty Tricks.
