A HUGE variety of beautiful and unusual plants will be available to buy in Tavistock this Sunday, when the town plays host to a special plant market.

The National Council for the Conservation of Plants and Gardens is organising the event in Tavistock Pannier Market. NCCPG events like this are attended by some of the best small, specialist nurserymen in the West Country, selling rare, unusual or just simply beautiful plants.

Plant hunters have been bringing species back to the UK for three centuries, resulting in a huge diversity of plants in this country.

But climate change and habitat loss has endangered some of these plants in their native landscape. An NCCPG plant market means gardeners can aid conservation by buying one of these rare species and potentially saving it from future extinction.

The plant market opens at 10am ? entrance for non-NCCPG members is £1.
