STARS from BBC shows were among the guests at the Rapid UK Fun Day at Bridestowe on Saturday which raised more than £1,000 for the charity.
Michael Newman from the Antiques Roadshow, Bob Grose from DIY SOS and Howard James from BBC Radio Devon joined in the fun which all took place in and around the Fox and Hounds.
Activities included a car boot sale, teddy bears search and rescue, competitions, a sheep derby, a grand national for young farmers dressed up as pantomime horses, a tug of war, penalty football, a barbecue and a dog show.
The day culminated with live music by Full Moon Revels from Kingsteignton and a firework display by Lockrow Pyrotechnics.
Organiser Geraldine Jury said once again the fun day for the Okehampton-based rescue charity was a great success and very well supported.
Next year there are plans to hold an event at Powderham Castle with patron of Rapid UK the Duke of Gloucester expected to make a visit.
l RAPID UK have appealed for good soft cuddly toys that are unwanted here but the sale of which could help a child or adult caught up in a catastrophe somewhere else in the world.
