TAVISTOCK Town Hall will be rocking to the sound of music next week, when workshops and a special live concert are due to lift the roof ? and the best news of all ? it?s completely free!
Rock On! has been organised by Tavistock Forward, and is part of a series of musical events in the town, which started with classical concerts in May.
John Taylor of Tavistock Forward said: ?We are trying to provide something for everyone and this event is aimed at the young people.?
Rock and pop workshops will be held in the town hall throughout Wednesday August 20, starting at 11am. Youngsters can find out what makes a band work, develop their instrumental skills, write a song and even play in a live gig at the end of the day.
Those that take part in the workshop will have the opportunity to be the warm up acts for the professional band Bark, which takes to the stage at 8pm. Bark are a South West band influenced by jazz, reggae and grunge with African and Turkish beats ? guaranteed to get everyone dancing.
The bar in the town hall will be available for soft drinks.
Any teenagers who would like to attend the workshops or concerts should just turn up at the town hall and enjoy themselves ? for free!
