BEN Neale from Horndon, Mary Tavy, completed the recent Great South Run in an impressive one hour and four minutes, raising £550 for the British Heart Foundation into the bargain.
Twenty-five year old Ben joined 15,000 runners in the 10 mile road-race in Portsmouth on October 25, coming 104th in his age group and enjoying 189th overall position.
Ben, who can more often be seen pulling pints in the Elephant's Nest Inn, also captains the Elephant's Nest Cricket Club as well as playing for Tavistock Rugby Club.
He was welcomed home by his wife Holly and proud in-laws, Hugh and Denise Cook.
'We're absolutely thrilled that Ben completed the race in such good time, for a great cause,' said Hugh.
Ben chose the British Heart Foundation as heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in the UK.
