OKEHAMPTON Community Archive is holding a race night on Saturday October 1 to raise funds for the organisation.

The event takes place at the Masonic Lodge on Station Road from 7pm. Tickets cost £5 each to include a cottage pie dinner. There will be a licensed bar.

The night is to help raise funds for equipment for the OCA. They recently purchased an Apple iMac computer, printer and scanner to help record the information collected by OCA members.

The OCA was formed in 2009 with the aim of recording a 'living history' of personal memories, photographs and documents from the people of Okehampton. It holds several exhibitions and coffee mornings throughout the year.

The archive centre on Mill Road is open on Wednesday mornings and Thursday afternoons for visitors to look at photographs, documents and information.

For more information or to buy a ticket, please call in to Okehampton Town Hall.
