CALLINGTON town crier Dennis Cook issued a rallying call for people to support the Plymouth Race for Life when he visited the town's Tesco store.
Race event manager Scott Renken said: 'Race for Life is a unique celebration of sisterhood and pride. The atmosphere is amazing, with local women from all walks of life coming together to make a positive difference to people affected by cancer.'
Alan Woollcombe, Tesco Callington's community champion said: 'Race For Life is as much an affirmation of life as an appeal to help the fight against cancer, and we here at Tesco are delighted to support both.
'We are very grateful to the town crier for turning up to make it an even more special occasion and help inspire the people of Callington to join in.
'We will be fielding a staff team of volunteers for the event itself on July 17, and in the past few days alone over thirty members of staff have signed up.'
