ALMOST 70 quilts were on display in Tavistock Town Hall recently for the Goosey Quilters' exhibition.

Visitors included people from all over the UK and from as far away as Canada.

The winning choice quilt was won by Mrs Eileen Foster with her 'Four Seasons' quilt made by using a mix of applique, embroidery and quilting.

The two raffle quilts raised £500 for Asthma UK and £400 for the Triangle Centre in Tavistock.

Goosey Quilters expressed thanks to Mrs Sandy Chandler, of the Quilting Company, who quilted the Triangle Centre quilt and to Terry from Soft Touch Fabrics in Tavistock, who donated some of the fabrics for both quilts.

Mrs Jenny Tinbrell, a member of Strand Quilters, Tywreadreth, won the Asthma UK quilt, and the Triangle Centre quilt was won by Mrs Debra Grey from Callington.

Goosey Quilters always welcomes new members. The group meets every first and third Thursday of the month at Tavistock Methodist Hall from 7.15pm to 9.15pm.
