OKEHAMPTON Community Garden is hosting a 'Big Lunch' on Saturday, June 7 celebrating its work.

Linda Harper, chair of the Okehampton Community Garden Association, said: 'The Big Lunch is a project created by the team at the Eden Project to get neighbours sharing a lunch together. This project has been running for six years and has become the UK's biggest annual get together for neighbours.

'The community garden has already been used as a case study for the Big Lunch Extra Camps organised by the Eden Project and we now want to firmly place Okehampton on the Big Lunch map by holding our very own Big Lunch.'

The event starts at 1pm.

All guests should bring along some food to share and a blanket or chair to sit on.
