AN exhibition of printmaking by the Tamar Print Workshop, presented by artist Mary Gillett, opens this weekend at Kelly College art department.
The majority of pictures created by the mysterious process of printmaking have been produced in a unique, workshop environment where students are encouraged to work at their own pace, and where the ethos is one of support and enthusiasm.
?First Impressions? is an exhibition of original prints ? created, designed and executed by the artists.
The printmaking process tends to be unpredictable and hard to control and exists between a balance of technique and elements of chance.
The medium covers processes such as etching, monoprinting, screen printing, digital printmaking and relief printing.
Its vagaries and its versatility are what lie behind the unexpected, complex and exciting results that you will see on display in this revealing show of work.
l The show is at Kelly College art department, Tavistock and runs from Saturday October 2 to Saturday October 16, 10am to 4pm and is closed on Sundays.
