MEMBERS of Tavistock Swimming Club reflected on the past successes of the year when they held the their annual presentation evening at the Royal British Legion club in Tavistock. The medals for club championship events were sponsored this year by HSBC Bank, Tavistock, and were presented to the swimmers by Nick Lovitt, Tavistock HSBC bank manager, club president Kevin Freedman and vice presidents John Reed and Sue Dunstan. The president asked that Graham Cooper and Rob Whitehead, who have both died this year, be remembered by the swimmers for their past contributions to the club. Club trophies were presented: Short distance ? 8/U, Caitlin Chapman; 10/U, Katie Stephens and Kieran Rookes; 12/U Charlotte Mellor and Sam Campbell; 14/U Holly Brimble/Natalie Greep and Matt Edwards; 16/U Kirsty Best and Tom Waddington; 17/O Laura Radgick/Amy Warnett and Chris Ralph; open Kirsty Best and Chris Ralph; long distance 10-14 years, Natalie Greep and Sam Campbell. Long distance: aged 15 plus, Laura Radgick and Chris Ralph; most worthy swimmer, Chris Ralph; most improved junior, Caitlin Chapman; most improved senior, Charlotte Mellor; best overall Laura Radgick; best in training, Kris Chapman; best junior squad swimmer, Harriet Edwards; best senior squad swimmer, Tom Waddington; best junior club swimmer, Matt Adams; best senior club swimmer; Jonathan Woodside, best up and coming swimmers, Katie Stephens and Kieran Rookes; club choice, Kirsty Best and Tom Waddington; best relay team, boys 15/U - Tom Waddington, Tom Crocker, Josh Stephens and Sam Campbell Retiring committee members Lorraine Kelly and Jackie Ralph were presented with engraved cut glass vases for their hard work for the club over many years and the club coaches, Kate, Rachael and Wendy, were given bouquets. Sheila Radgick, the club?s vice-chairman, said: ?The evening went swimmingly and was well attended. Its been a successful year for the club and a special thanks must go to the past chairman, Lorraine Kelly, for all her hard work during the past year.? Kate Waddington is the new chair at the club, which has more than 85 members.
