THE Olympic dream of Georgina Geikie will be supported by this year's Sticklepath Pram Race, taking place on Sunday October 2.
Georgina shoots pistols to Olympic level, and is desperate to make it to London 2012. With budgetary constraints Georgina's funding has been cut, and in order to make it to next year's games she is relying on sponsorship and juggling three part-time jobs.
With the Olympics less than a year away the organisers of the race have decided to support Georgina and try to give her every chance to try and win an Olympic medal on home soil.
The race invites competitors to decorate prams of all shapes and sizes, racing them around the villages of Sticklepath and South Zeal to raise as much money for a good cause as possible. Previous entries have included a team with a bathful of beer, a team of smurfs and a motley crew of pirates.
Reddaway's Yard in Sticklepath will open at 11.15am for a noon start. Each team can have five or more competitors, with participants aged 18 or over.
