TAVISTOCK police are asking retailers and shoppers to be on the lookout after a number of counterfeit banknotes were used as payment in some stores on Monday.

Police received numerous reports of attempts to pass off the fraudulent £20 notes as well as a description of the suspects.

PC Waits said: ? We received reports of two white males who were in possession of the banknotes, and believe they may have been driving a red Ford-style hatchback.?
