POLICE are appealing for information concerning a van involved in an incident outside the London Pub in Okehampton on Wednesday, June 28. At exactly 10pm on that day, the van reversed at speed into the public house, damaging a window sill. Approximately half an hour earlier the three occupants of the van had been involved in an altercation with the landlord of another public house in which the landlord was assaulted. The driver of the vehicle is believed to have been drunk, and it is thought the van was from outside Devon and Cornwall but was probably in the area in connection with a delivery or work being carried out in either of the counties. The wording on the side is thought to include the words ?Town and Country? and the last word may be ?Furniture? or ?Furnishings? or something similar. Anyone who had a van answering this description at their property on that day and can identify where it came from is asked to contact WPC Angie Frost on 01822 813808, or alternatively to leave details with the front desk at either Tavistock or Okehampton police stations if there is no reply from that number.
