YOUNGSTERS in Okehampton will be kept active over the February half term thanks to a busy programme of activities organised by OCRA.
On Tuesday, February 19 and Thursday, February 21, children can enjoy sport and art days for six to 14-year-olds, with a mix of sport and art and craft activities.
Potential sports include football, tennis and basketball, and on the Thursday there will be opportunities to go swimming in the afternoon session. The sessions run on both days from 10am to 3pm, with the first child of the family costing £9.50 and each additional child costing £7.50. Children will need to bring appropriate indoor and outdoor clothing, packed lunch and drinks.
On Wednesday, February 20, children can enjoy a specialised camp to take part in netball, trampolining or gymnastics for eight to 16-year-olds. All abilities are welcome at each session.
The gymnastic camp will let participants try out the tumble track, balance beam, floor work, the vault and much more with OCRA's gym club coaches. The netball camp will let players develop new skills and build on existing ones. Both camps run from 10am to 1pm.
The trampoline camp with the trampoline club coach will let experienced and new trampolinists learn new moves and polish their skills. The club runs from 2pm to 5pm. All three clubs cost £8 each.
Youngsters in Northlew and Bridestowe can also get in on the action with outreach sport and art sessions at Northlew Village Hall and Bridestowe Village Hall on Monday, February 18. The session in Northlew runs from 10am to noon, while the Bridestowe session runs from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
