FOR the first time in ten years, St Luke's Hospice Plymouth is swinging into action to organise a golf day and is inviting West Devon residents to join in.

The St Luke's Golf Day will 'Tee off' at 10am on Friday, October 11 at the China Fleet Golf and Country Club, Saltash, Cornwall.

A spokesman for St Luke's said: 'If you are a business and fancy a day out the office with clients or just a golf enthusiast that can pull together a team of four, then St Luke's want to hear from you!

'Your day includes refreshments, including a post-game barbecue, trophy presentations for the best team, raffle prizes and of course you will be playing on an 18 hole, par 72 parkland golf course that boasts some of the best views around with 180 acres of Cornish countryside and River Tamar on your doorstep.'

The St Luke's Golf Day is open to all abilities; team entry price is £180 (£45 per person) with additional corporate sponsorship opportunities available.

Corporate fundraiser at St Luke's, Lorna Damella, said: 'It has been ten years since we last organised a golf event and we hope this will prove popular with our supporters.

'It's the perfect way to have a great day of golf and at the same time help raise the vital funds we need to run our hospice services that are so important to the local community.'
