MEMBERS of the Tavistock Royal Marines? Association undertook a tour of First World War battlefields in France and Belgium, principally the Somme and the Ypres Salient. Among the branch members taking part was Tom Cadwallader, aged 85, who is the oldest member of the branch. Tom?s father had completed his Royal Marines service but was recalled to duty in 1914. Throughout the Great War, he served with the 63rd Naval Division, seeing action both at Gallipoli and the Western Front. Tom laid a wreath on behalf of the branch at the 63rd Naval Division Memorial, Beaucort, France. RIGHT: Tavistock Royal Marines Association at the tour of the battlefields ?
