PETE Tomes, a member of Tavistock Triathlon Club and Storm Running Club, ran 310 miles in January to raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust, crossing the finishing line on Tuesday.
Pete said: ‘Inspired by so many fellow runners signing up for the 100 mile challenge, I decided I wanted to kick start the year as I mean to go on. So I decided I would set myself a similar challenge, just adding a few extra miles.
‘The Devon Air Ambulance Trust owns two helicopters and operates seven days a week.
‘As of autumn 2016, DAAT will extend its flying hours until midnight.
‘Responding to approximately 1,400 incidents every year, Devon Air Ambulance Trust conveys patients to the specialist treatment centre most appropriate for their needs, giving them the best chance of survival.
‘The service costs £5.5-million every year and DAAT is proud to be independent of Government and National Lottery funding, relying solely on the generous donations of the people, businesses and communities of Devon.’
