THE silent films of Charlie Chaplin are making a comeback ? complete with sound ? at North Tawton next month. On October 8, Nichols Nymet House, near North Tawton is hosting a special concert featuring international concert organist David Briggs, which will include a live improvised accompaniment to the Charlie Chaplain feature film The Goldrush. The concert will also include some well known classics such as Rimsky-Korsakov?s Flight of the Bumblebee, to be performed on the resident organ which has real pipes as well as digital sounds. David Briggs is past organist of both Truro and Gloucester Cathedrals and now lives in New York. The unique evening of entertainment will conclude with a full buffet supper and wine.
