THE Lambs finally ended a losing streak with a last-gasp goal at Langsford Park to have a share of the points

It could have been a different story in the first half had the Peppermints taken their superior chances. A first minute corner was not cleared by the Lambs and when the ball was crossed in again Andy White found himself in space but headed over.

It was from another corner that the Lambs failed to clear and this time Damian Dyer's deflected shot was brilliantly tipped over the bar by Andy Meeds.

The first chance for the Lambs came after 20 minutes when Steve Daymond headed a through ball on to get himself past the last defender only to see his effort hit the side netting.

The Lambs had the

better of the opening exchanges of the second half and took the lead on 65 minutes as sub Dave Brimacombe's high swinging cross was headed home from close range by Sean Cann.

But the home side's lead disappeared three minutes later when they failed to clear a corner. When the ball came back in Matt Wilmot was on hand to stab home from close range.

With ten minutes remaining the visitors took the lead as they got down the wing to send in a low cross that Dyer swept home at the far post.

It looked very much like a home defeat for the Lambs as the game was deep into injury time when James Cole's corner was headed home by John Hadjiyianni for a welcome point.

THE Lambs included new signings Paul Jago from Ivybridge and Darren Parr from Elburton into the squad with Jago in the starting line-up.

Chances in the half were few and far between until the final minute when Daniel Worth robbed Will Westlake of the ball in midfield. He slotted it through the defence for Charlie Pond to beat the offside trap, round Lambs keeper Andy Meeds and slot home from an acute angle.

The second half livened up with the Lambs lucky to have kept the score down as first James Cole cleared off the line then ex-Lambs striker Marcus Crocker saw his first attempt hit a post. Meeds blocked his second effort before he shot wide.

Paul Smith saw his shot saved by Parkway keeper James Dungey before the Lambs were awarded an indirect free kick inside the area but it was cleared to safety.

Again the home side were unlucky as it appeared that Westlake had chested down the ball to go past his marker and slam into the net only for the effort to be ruled out for offside.

The Lambs finally got on the scoresheet with five minutes left to set up a nail-biting finish as sub Dave Brimacombe's near post cross was met by Westlake to give them some hope.

Sean Cann saw his shot fumbled by the keeper and cleared. On the stroke of full time Meeds came up for a corner and managed to get his head to the ball to send it goalwards but the final touch went wide of the mark.

There was still time for Meeds to advance for another set-piece and this time the ball broke for Thirlby to try his luck from 50 yards at an unguarded goal. But his effort went wide.
