OKEHAMPTON Table Tennis Club held its yearly veterans competition. This was the third year that it has put on this tournament and players from all over the South West took part. The winner of the singles finals was Penny Perry from Devon and runner up was Mark Morley from Somerset. The singles consolation was won by Kate Alkin from Cornwall and runner up was Steve Smith from Somerset. The singles plate was won by John Watson (Somerset) and runner up was Freddie Burns (Devon). The doubles were won by Phil Reeve and Penny Perry, while the runners up were Barry Denner and Ray Harwood (all Devon). The ladies? singles was won by Kate Alkin and the runner up was Pat Lyon (Devon). The ladies? consolation was won by Annabel Challenger and the runner up was Barbara Parker (Devon). The ladies? plate was won by Val Fox from Andover and the runner up was Anne Creamer (Devon). The trophies were presented by Fred Phillips, the chairman of the club.
