HUNDREDS of photographs and artefacts were on show at the ?History of Horrabridge? exhibition over the spring bank holiday. Stories of mining, railway and local industries, all now inactive, were viewed. People could also see receipts, bill-heads and account books of the many shops in the village now closed, old local families and various weddings throughout the years. Current groups, including the twinning association, Cavaliers and Strollers also displayed items at the exhibition, held at both the village hall and St John?s Church. Maureen Silly, from the Devon Family History Society, was in attendance each afternoon and was kept busy researching people?s enquiries. The money raised from the three days will be distributed between St Luke?s Hospice and local village charities.
