THERE will be entertainment with a medieval flavour at the Wharf in Tavistock next month when a West Devon group performs a combination of music and dance.
Chagford-based Daughters of Elvin are used to performing at festivals, arts centres, churches and outdoor events.
The three talented members evoke the spirit of medieval Europe when they give a powerful display of colour, movement and sound.
Their costumes include weird and wonderful masked creatures based on paintings of medieval street performers and mummers.
Katy Marchant plays the pipe and tabor, bagpipes, recorders and bells. Dhevdhas Nair is on drums and percussion and Clio Wondrausch dances with varying degrees of audience participation.
Singer Jeremy Avis joins the group. He studied singing with opera singer Geraldene Hacket-Jones and won a choral scholarship to New College, Oxford.
Daughters of Elvin can be seen on February 5 starting with a workshop at 2pm followed by a performance at 8pm. Tickets are children £4 and adults £6. To book call 01822 611166.
