A POPULAR music and entertainment festival is taking place this Sunday at Tavistock College. Parklife '08 will see a selection of bands with an eclectic mix of musical styles return to the grounds of the school. This event was originally set up to give local talent a springboard. Now in its third year the organisers have been inundated with offers from many aspiring and established musicians wanting to wow the folks of West Devon. Kicking off the event will be radio DJ Josh Andrews, a Year 10 student from the college. He will be opening and closing the event, interviewing the crowd and introducing the bands, which include Kinetika Bloco, Dad Dancing, The Lost Boys, Output and Jamie Rowland. Josh, 15, has a children's show on Sunday for Hospital Radio Plymouth and is part of the promotional crew for the 'Thunder' crew for Plymouth Sound. He said: 'There will be something for everyone at the event. Parklife will see bands from rock to African drumming. 'There will be something for everyone to get involved with, from circus skills, to an open mic tent and a dance tent.'
