A MEETING in Callington to discuss proposed parking charge increases has been changed to December 9 at 5.15pm.

Cornwall Council's proposal to increase the first hour parking fee from 20p to 50p has met opposition from traders in Callington.

Local transport manager Peter Moore and Cornwall Council's portfolio holder for parking Graeme Hicks will be attending the meeting in the town hall.

The consultation period on the proposals ends on December 3 but Callington portreeve Karen Gold said she had been assured that comments at the meeting would be taken on board as Mr Moore and Mr Hicks could not make a meeting before this date.
