STAFF at the Co-operative in Okehampton did their part to help out carers across the country on Shrove Tuesday, by selling pancakes.

The event was one of many planned throughout the year to raise money for Carers' Trust, the Co-operative charity of the year.

Carers' Trust is the UK's largest charity for carers. With local network partners, the charity works to improve support, services and recognition for carers in communities across the UK.

The store's next fundraiser is a trolley dash. Customers can buy a strip of draw tickets at £2 each to get entered into a prize draw — the winner of which will get to have a Supermarket Sweep-style trolley dash around the store on March 3.
