A COMBINED team of adult instructors and members of both 2312 Squadron Air Cadets and Tavistock Adventure Group entered this year's River Axe race in East Devon recently. The team entered single slalom, double Canadian and K1 race classes with all completing in very respectable places. Air Cadet and TAG member Tom Ludwig came away with the runner's up medal for the under-16 class. The race length was five miles covering both fresh and sea water stretches of the Axe. Flt Lt Phil Newcombe said: 'This was our second year competing in this event which was organised by the River Axe Canoe Club. 'It gave all an excellent challenge racing with some of the best in the UK. All gave our town a good name at the presentations and we look forward to being invited next year.'
