Okehampton Argyle Res 1 North Tawton Res 1 OKEHAMPTON took control of the early exchanges and their pacy attack caused North Tawton problems. Sandford and Callaghan both hit the uprights during the first 20 minutes, but slightly against the run of play North Tawton took the lead. A flowing move down the left resulted in a low cross hit at the near post and when it was flicked on North Tawton?s midfield player was at hand to convert the opportunity. Callaghan equalised for Argyle with a rasping drive which gave their keeper no chance. So at the interval the score was all level at 1-1. The second half proved a little cagier. Both sets of defenders were on fine form, as they kept their opposite attacks in check. Dearing, making his first appearance in six weeks after breaking his fingers, forged a good understanding with Ditchburn at the heart of Argyle?s defence , which meant North Tawton had to work hard to create any openings. Callaghan had Argyle?s best chance of the second half, but put his shot just wide of the target. North Tawton also had an excellent chance to secure all three points, but it was missed when their player could not stretch enough to reach the ball a yard off Okehampton?s goal-line. Next match December 27, Cheriton Fitzpaine away.
