MOUNT House School in Tavistock celebrated 120 years of existence with a record number of scholarships and exhibitions to senior schools.

All 39 pupils in the top year passed to their senior schools and 20 scholarships or exhibitions were won.

Headmaster Charles Price said: 'I am absolutely delighted we should begin the new millennium with these outstanding successes and that so many of the award winners should be from local families.'
