POETRY returns to its usual venue at Betty Cottles in Okehampton on Thursday, September 27. Not only are you invited to come along and read your own poetry but you can also enjoy listening to Jean Symons.

Her poetry has won many accolades, including prizes in the BBC Wildlife and the Exeter Poetry Prize.

Jean's 'Bus Journey Diary' with its exploration of the work song is already famous among local poets and her new collection 'Hiding in Chips' is bound to feature in her performance.

Many people just come along to listen to the excellent poetry coming out of the area at the moment. So enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and be sure of a warm welcome.
