THE Gallery room at Tavistock's Bedford Hotel was packed for the first Taste and See dinner of the autumn where the speaker was Julie Hodge, a project manager and trainee mediator from Exeter.

Julie talked about her career and personal life — through many changes and struggles she has come to realise that one of her chief gifts is helping people create order out of chaos in whatever situation they find themselves, both personally and professionally. This reflects her Christian faith and the Christian doctrine that when God created the world he brought order out of chaos to create life as described in Genesis 1.

Ruth Newman thanked Julie for an inspiring talk and the Bedford Hotel for an excellent meal.

The Christmas Taste and See will be held in the Bedford Hotel in early December, date to be confirmed but probably December 2. It will take the form of a cabaret evening. Details will be announced shortly.
