AS part of the events running up to the unveiling of the largest mechanical puppet to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape being added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites, an open singing rehearsal will be held in Tavistock on Monday, June 20.

The mechanical puppet ‘The Man Engine’ is a 10-metre high steaming giant who will crawl the length of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape over the course of two weeks from July 25 to August 6, with the launch being held in Tavistock.

Organisers are now calling for people to get involved and learn the ‘Hard Rock Miner’ anthem on June 20 at 7pm in Tavistock Town Hall to help sing on the launch day as the puppet is revealed to the public for the first time.
