A WEST Devon garden will be opening for charity this weekend.
The opening is part of the National Gardens Scheme and is one of thousands of private gardens which raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie and a range of other caring charities.
The garden at The Stannary, Mary Tavy, will be open from 11am to 5pm and there will be light lunches as well as cream teas and other snacks available.
The Stannary has an informal two-acre garden with lovely views of the moor. Originally a field, the planting is naturalistic and abundant, with areas for wildlife including ponds and a meadow. There will be plants on sale, all grown in the garden.
There is a conservatory and polytunnel if shelter from rain is needed. Entrance is £3.50, children free.
Last year from three open days and the sale of plants The Stannary raised more than £1,000 for the charities.
