NorthOkes U13s 15 Barnstaple U13s 5 FRESH from the cup victory last week, NorthOkes attacked through their forwards from the start. From a scrum ten yards out Graham Glew picked up at the back of the scrum and crashed over for a try. Within minutes a further drive up the right saw the ball pop up to Gary Down. Gary crashed right through the Barnstaple defence to score in the corner. Barnstaple began to play through their big forwards. Good tackling by the midfield backs kept them mostly in their own half. However a good breakout and a silly penalty allowed Barnstaple to get back into the game just before the break. In the second half a good two handed catch by Chris Humphreys saw NorthOkes forwards drive towards their opponents? line and good ball retention saw Will Lethbridge dive over. Several more opportunities went begging as NorthOkes strove to increase their lead, however several final passes went to ground. Training NT 6pm Friday. Sunday Exeter Chiefs (H). Okehampton/North Tawton U9s 0 Barnstaple U9s 5 TOM Pierce won the toss and chose to tak\e possession of the ball. Barnstaple capitalised early on with a mistake by NorthOkes giving them the only try of the game. Okehampton settled down and played good rugby. Their defending was excellent. A huge tackle by Ollie Francis stopped Barnstaple from increasing their lead. This week home to Exeter Chiefs at North Tawton. Okehampton U10s 70 Barnstaple 20 OKEHAMPTON had to lend Barnstaple three players. Josh Punchard, Kyren Lee and Johnathon Aylen, all outstanding, made life difficult for the home side. But once the backs got the ball the tries came thick and fast. Giles Heard scored five tries, three for Billy Searle, Josh Bickley and three for man of the match Luke Liversidge. Josh Punchard scored for Barnstaple and so did Josh Bickley in the second half.
