THE launch of the summer guided walks, drop-in activities and workshops at the new Tamar Trails Centre at Gulworthy was accompanied by glorious sunshine.
Also home to Tree Surfers, the location hosted arts and crafts with young families being creative with finger painting, leaf and twig printing and collages.
The afternoon entailed a fun and informative workshop from resident nature specialist Richard Hibbert. Continuing the tree theme, he ventured into the Tamar Woodlands, group in tow, to inform, explore and discover some native common trees.
'Making up the stories about the trees was the best thing about the tree workshop, and learning about identifying trees by the shapes of their leaves', said Hannah, 12.
The theme of trees, discovery and texture did not end there with the beginnings of a new barefoot pathway being built.
It was a great start to the holidays at the centre and family activities will continue throughout the summer every Wednesday, each time with a different theme.
Anyone wishing to participate, or who would like further information call the Tamar Trails Centre on 01822 833409.
